They surveyed my house and agreed to expand my solar. Then, they said they would do so only for an extra $7,800, based on a baseless claim that a prior contract was in breach. However:

* We were not in breach.

* No contract terms tied them together.

* They surveyed the house and approved the install.

* Their rationale for refusal kept changing.

Read the attached image. It includes their breach of contract email and an abbreviated timeline of the situation.

It was an extortion attempt for $7,800 by the way. The $5,000 was my expenses for hiring a lawyer to force them into finishing the job they contracted to do. Anyway: * $5,000 legal costs * $3,000 over charge * 1,800 lost production ===== $9,800 needs to be deducted from the $17,000 contract (for a 4kW PV system, that is $2K to $5K above usual)

Sunrun & Brothers construction & Roofing Framingham Ma

Hired Sunrun for solar and a roof.

Day one roofers show up. Dented a vent causing carbon monoxide poisoning at deadly levels into my home.

ok accidents happen.

Couldn't even stay in my home and repairs cost me about the same as my garage roof.

They left debris everywhere destroyed my attic and garage , causing debris also to second floor

Yard is a mess trash, metal, nails clips ,zip ties etc.

can't get any help so all month I call , while cleaning my yard daily.

The amount I have alone is unbelievable.

Finally roofers come back at my home with no noticed. First two guys in morning was to run magnet through my yard for nails. They parked at basketball hoop , well shows truck there a while then 20 minutes later truck is gone basketball hoop smashed on ground and red tail light pieces all over the ground!!

Hours later come home people are on my roof no notice. First thing I did was bring up the tail light pieces and his workers truck!

Well long story short on this owner was there didn't introduce himself on who he was.

Then turns into the cent issue ( which I never asked him to fix). He intimated me acting like tough, talking down to me. Demanding they didn't have anything to do with the vent. OK

He got rude I stoped conversation and few minutes later the workers were gone.

That is two weeks ago. Can't get Sunrun who is our rep to call me back or check in since he got this business from me!!

Make it right clean the debris, fix the roof like hired for and replace the hoop for the damn poor child.

!!!Beware!!! Sunrun is a Deceiving Company

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I purchased a solar system from Sunrun, and the salesman assured me that this system would allow me to run my central AC during the summer months with the doors open. However, it has now been five months since the system was activated, and I am facing a significant issue.

My power bill from SCE, along with what I owe to Sunrun, is nearly twice as high as what I was paying prior to the installation. I reached out to Sunrun to express my dissatisfaction, but the representative informed me that the solar system is functioning normally and essentially told me to accept the situation. This is unacceptable. I also requested the escalation team to provide a link for reviewing Sunrun on three separate occasions.

Finally, I received an email with a link, but it was addressed to a different customer; this is a clear indication of the company's deceptive practices.

Since I made this purchase through Costco, I have contacted them for assistance and hope they can intervene effectively. I am determined to resolve this matter.

Sunrun installed a bad roof and won't repair

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Sunrun installed a bad roof on my house. After many months of emails and phone calls, they never sent out a repair man.

Finally, under duress, I signed a form from Sunrun to use my own contractor. I signed under duress because they said they couldn't get a repair man and that this was the only way I could get my roof repaired, and there were driving rains. I told I didn't want to be personally responsible, and that's only thing I asked. But after the contractor fixed the leaks, there was more hidden damage that emerged and more leaks.

They told me they won't fix the roof. The bad roof they installed was so bad that one company wanted to charge me $23,000 to fix it. He said the roof was so bad that really it should be replaced. And boy, when he looked at it, he sneered in disgust.

Why did they not simply repair the roof after the first phone call. Eventually, they sent me an email with lies, such as "since the roof no longer has a running leak, Sunrun is not responsible for a repair." A blatant lie. I assumed this was an underhanded tactic written by a lawyer to fool the court in the event of a lawsuit. I thought Sunrun was a legitimate company.

Even the Sunrun claims manager apologized to me for my treatment, and she said the higher ups were orchestrating everything. She seemed to be trapped in an immoral circumstance because the bosses simply wanted to get out of paying for that roof at all costs. Even from the beginning, they continually tried to get me to "work " with their contractor. They said they couldn't find the contractor and only that particular contractor could fix the roof.

Why were they telling me all this. I told Sunrun, that I purchased the roof from them and to leave me out of such conversations. I truly feel this matter is about greed and avoiding the cost of their damage. They have a lot excuses, but I felt from the beginning, everything was a dodge or a put off.

It's been two years and my roof still leaks. This is so cruel.

I'm a senior citizen. The stress has been affecting my health and making me I'll.s

Elder financial abuse of a 92yo woman

SR sold my 92-year-old mother a solar lease for both houses she owns, one she lives in and the other vacant for 7 years. Neither system is operational at the moment. For the home she lives in, she will probably end up paying slightly more in cost. She will pay $200 for the storage batteries and required internet service (she doesn't currently have already... she's ninety-two!!!) so before she uses any power, she is about $2,500 in the hole. Then she will also be losing the approximately $1,700 for the energy credit from the old solar system exporting power back to the utility; then she will be paying SR for that same power she now must buy... about $500.

So in other words, before any other power purchase from SR, she will be nearly $5,000 in the hole. Adding to the financial loss is they disconnected the old system around December 1, and the new one is still not complete as of March 13. So she has lost power production/money (though minimal this time of year).

The other house that is empty has a storage battery lease plus the internet requirement... total $1,700 in charges. The power use is minimal currently... less than $50 per month. The power cost savings from the solar/SR will be about $17 per month. She will be paying about $2,000 per year for power at that house instead of the less than $500 she previously paid.

The 'contract' was 'signed' electronically. However, when they presented the proposals, the sales rep and his trainer never gave her the tablet to 'initial' or 'sign'. The contracts should be void, but all of that is for the courts.

Making matters worse is the roof on the unoccupied home is 17 years old... it has maybe 8 years left. The roof should have been replaced before any panels were installed.

The occupied home has a roof 20 years old... it too should have been replaced prior to solar installation. They are a disgusting organization!

Roof leak

I have a leaking roof right under the solar panels is where the leak is coming from and adjust. The inspector came out to inspect with no ladder.

I have a three family home.

It does have a crawlspace on the third floor that he refused to use he just took pictures of the inside damage and the bedroom bathroom where it was already fixed on the outside of the premises. Its been three days and I still have no response or resolution.

Do not stand by their warranty and force the next owner of your home to keep the panels

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

They do everything they can NOT to fix the damage these panels do to the roof. I was told it would cost $15k to remove the panels and reinstall them, and they refused to admit it was the panels causing the damage to begin with.

They create a thrust of the wind that causes damage, not just under the panels but also on the surrounding shingles. They're supposed to be weather-tight, but are not.

Do not get these. No pros, only cons...

Sunrun

My solar consultant, Eric, was in my neighborhood one day, selling solar door to door. I was interested in getting solar for my house, and Eric helped start that process. We went from the site survey to the panel inspection. The approval from the town, the approval from the electric company, all was looking good.

I knew I had a few trees that had to come down. Sunrun initially told me I had eight trees that needed to be removed, then it went to 10, then 12. Months went by with someone leading me to believe that things were moving in a positive direction.

Then, out of the blue one day, I got a message saying that Sunrun spoke with the tree service they use and they're only approved to take down five trees. I was told that I had 17 trees that needed to be removed. I was clearly surprised that the number was at 17 now and Sunrun told me that I would be responsible for removing the trees before they could install the solar panels.

This was after the solar consultant told me that they would help with tree removal and a new roof if I needed it. So now, if I want to go solar, I have to spend thousands of dollars to have tree removal done before I can go solar.

They led me on for months, wasting my time. You would think that Sunrun, having been around for a while, would have known in advance the amount of trees they could remove and informed me up front, instead of letting it get as far as it did.

Lastly, why was the solar consultant going door to door in a wooded area, knocking on people's doors, knowing well that Sun can't reach most of these houses? Sunrun is a fraud and I would not recommend anyone looking into them as a solar company. Upper management couldn't do anything about it either. It's funny how that works. They're more concerned with lining their own pockets. My advice: shop around.

GivE full detail of the story I earlier wrote

Dear Sunrun Customer Support,

I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the service I have received from Sunrun, particularly from the African agent.

I invested a total of 100,000 FCFA in October and November, split into four intervals. My account number is 67657****. Despite my repeated requests, I have been unable to withdraw my funds.

The African agent has made unreasonable demands, including asking me to purchase an additional 40,000 FCFA worth of investment before I can withdraw my money. Furthermore, she has requested that I perform a humiliating task by tying my slippers on my head in order to receive my money.

I have attached a screenshot of the conversation with the African agent, which clearly shows her unprofessional behavior. I have also tried to withdraw 190,000 FCFA on Saturday, but the transaction failed, and the money was returned to my Sunrun wallet.

I urge you to take immediate action to address this situation. I request a full refund of my investment, as well as compensation for the distress and inconvenience caused by the African agent's behavior.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Sincerely,

Okala Rene Sona

Sunrun mislead and misrepresentation

Description of complaint:

Hi I am contacting you in regards of my opened case what was opened on July 1st I still didnt receive any call from case manager and it is July 23rd Melvin Marciano - 603-696-**** Every time Im calling person never replies and agent is promising me that someone will be in touch with me in next 24 hours! Now only to find out from other people complaints that he is no longer working for the company!

The agent who installed and sold me my panels, mislead, misrepresented and frauded me, agent Brenton said I can transfer or remove panels at any time which is not true and he told me about it only after signing, he also said that if they dont produce enough, they will cover the difference, instead of $160 bill that I was promised I receive additional $300-$360 bill on the top from electric company, when they installing solars they signed me up for a night solar plan which supposed to cover the difference , which we later found out is not a buy back Program, so now I need to pay for difference, some guy Devon Webb called with opportunity to HELP, and he gave me 2 options, first - to be stuck with it for next 25 years and pay the difference each month and second - to add additional panels and battery but my solar payment will double and increase to $320/month for next 25 years, so Im trying to understand how does it help me but increasing my bill twice? Im unable to pay for Sunrun bill because Im covering the electric bill which is twice higher and my family is in financial distress!

No one wants to talk or take responsibility, agent Brenton-agent is not picking up the phone or answering my texts, why do I have to pay for for companies mistake? Both Devon and Brenton confirmed that agent was new and didnt know what he was doing, being first time in Texas I need to talk to a manager, legal counsel or Human Resources, Im reporting you To BBB and consumer protection agency Please give me a call back 832-769-**** - Serj Best Regards Serj Behterev

Sunrun consistently disappoints

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

After LYING to me for years about obtaining a retrofit solar battery, I am now having new problems with Sunrun for my leased solar system.

Yesterday, I noticed that there is a panel with shattered glass on my roof. I don't know what caused it, but we have had storms with high winds where I live.

I phoned Sunrun this morning.

I was on hold for over THREE HOURS waiting to speak to someone. Shortly thereafter, the recorded message said that no one was available to assist, and Sunrun hung up on me. Yes, after THREE HOURS.

Please do not do business with this company unless you enjoy being treated this way.

Then, I was able to find a computer, and I entered a "chat" with "Anne" at Sunrun. I reported the issue.

She said that since the system was generating enough power, Sunrun would not repair the damage including the broken glass panel which poses a potential safety risk.

Anne told me that I would have to pay $544 for an inspection or $622 to replace the panel.

However, my contract with Sunrun says that they must purchase insurance. Apparently either they are not insured or they don't what to submit a claim.

So, I am going to have to pay $622 to replace the panel and take them to arbitration under the terms of the contract.

If you want to have to go to arbitration to have a leased solar system repaired when it is physically damaged, then Sunrun is a great company.

However, if you think that a company which states that is insured won't cover such damage is an awful vendor that you would never want to do business with, then avoid Sunrun as you would avoid Herpes or a bullet.

This is NOT a company which treats its customers well.

Sunrun is a scam!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

We were forced into an existing Sunrun contract when we bought our home. A contract from 2018 was transferred to us with 36 outdated panels.

In two years, we have spoken to representatives from Sunrun multiple times about the inefficient system on our home. They refuse to give the option of updating it and will not service it since it is producing what the previous owner's contract stipulated. Our 1st year's true-up was $5000 and our 2nd year was $2500. Sunrun has told us they have upgraded panels that would cover our needs with half the panels but will only offer us a new contract with additional panels.

They will not do anything with the nearly 40 panels we currently have. We asked for a buyout quote. They quoted $45000 without any appraisal or documentation of how they reached such an exorbitant number for an outdated, inefficient system.

I have emails. At this point, we just want this system off of our home and to never deal with Sunrun again.
